This workshop is an important legal checkup for nonprofit organizations, covering legal issues relating to corporate governance and compliance. Texas Community Building with Attorney Resources ("Texas C-Bar") is the only project of its kind in Texas, providing free business law services across the state to community-based nonprofits. Topics include an overview of state and federal laws covering nonprofits, insurance protection, legal implications of fundraising, lobbying, and many other important issues to keep the organization and its Board of Directors from being sued or losing tax-exempt status.
